In the 3rd inning Nick came to the plate with bases loaded. He chatted up the catcher and took a second to put on his special headband. The ball rolled steadily across the grass and Nick saw his opportunity. He booted a hight kick to deep right field and never looked up. As he crossed home plate on an in the park grand slam, he quickly raised both his hands in victory. As his hands quickly reached the the sky....off came his tear away pants....he had been waiting for this moment all his life. Great kick Nick and thank you for wearing shorts under those tear away pants.
The grass games tonight played right into Neal's strong suit....monster kicks. With home plate set in deep center field due to the muddy infield....the dirt was an automatic home run. This small change made a huge difference for Neal and the "Winners, Loosers & Boozers". Neal stepped up the the plate and watched as the ball skipped across the damp grass....with a two step run up he booted the kickball high and deep. The "snatcher in the rye" defense was ready but when the ball came back into the atmosphere it was past the grass line and into the dirt......there was nothing left to do but cheer, high five, and congratulate Neal on his grand slam. Neal humbly thanked creatine, heavy weights, and his well shaped hair. Congratulations, you are the player of the week.
Not only did we learn that Tracy can't get on base with out doing her pre-kick routine of circling home plate, but we also learned that she's a lefty. CRAZY!
In an intense game that had more close calls than a lucky squirrel making it across 205 in rush hour, Tracy and her crazy Winning, Losing, and Boozing crew pulled out all the stops on their way to hard fought victory over Last Minute Chaos. Fellow bunters take note of Tracy's form: She assumes a sprinter position about 3 feet behind home. As the pitch is released, Tracy's happy foot begins to rise. Swinging her boot like a pendulum, she usually sends it right up the third base line, making it damn near impossible to make a play. She then turns on the afterburners and runs ALL the way through first, often times halfway to right field. It's pretty picture perfect folks. Now if we could only get her to agree with the umpire while she plays short... :)
