Like a scene right out of a movie... Best way to summarize the 40 yard Touchdown by Stephanie Crouch who is this weeks "Player of the Week".
It was late in the 2nd half on a 3rd down and long, with time winding down when Stephanie Crouch broke down the sideline for what amounted to a game changing opportunity.
The QB took the snap, looked left (1 dog, 2 dog), looked short across the middle (3 dog, 4 dog) and then pump faked (5 dog, GO!), scrambling to his right, he spotted his receiver. It was Stephanie! As he avoided the rush, he hurled the ball towards Stephanie found herself all alone down the sideline.
(Insert slow motion and inspiring theme music) Stephanie turned and looked into the blistering and blazing sun, concentrating while squinting through what no doubt must have been agonizing pain from the sun's brightness, she stuck her hands high into the air and brought down a beautiful spiraling (really it was kinda duck like, but using author creativity here) pass.
Oh boy was she excited, the team was going nuts, but wait, she wasn't finished. As the defense closed in on her she turned towards the goal line, some 10 yards in front of her. She sprinted towards her target, locking in on that magical line, her feet and hands were moving so fast that she pulled her own flag.
As she inched towards the goal line, with her team cheering her on, she just beat out the last of the defenders for her very 1st touchdown in Underdog.
The place went nuts!!! What a play, a great story for a brand new team to Underdog. A story that in fact, later becomes legend as the team scored on a last second Hail Mary to win the game...
Welcome to Underdog Stephanie! Thank you for making it a special day!
