What an epic battle between "Vicious and Delicious" and "Texas Forever". Two teams battling it out for supremacy in the Softcore Division decided that 40 minutes of back and forth football wasn't enough to crown a champion. They needed overtime, and before the day was done, before the sun would set on this field, one team dug down deep and came away with a victory that left them alone atop the mountain.
Please join me in congratulating Vicious and Delicious for being this sessions Co-ed Softcore Champions.
Through hard work and grinding, Vicious and Delicious fought and clawed their way back from being 2 scores down at halftime to coming within and extra point away from having the game won at the end of regulation.
Most teams may have folded at that point, but not this team. They picked their heads up and proudly marched in 4 plays into the end zone and added the extra point to take the lead in overtime.
They weren't finished just yet. Texas Forever would get their chance to keep this game going and force it into a 2nd overtime had it not of been the amazing defensive efforts of the Vicious and Delicious Team.
Right from the get go, Vicious and Delicious used their deadly pass rush on the QB and sacked him for a 7 yard loss. With only three plays remaining to get into the end zone and with their backs firmly against the wall, Texas Forever found themselves staring at a united and determined defensive front, leaving their last hopes coming just short of the goal line.
It was a great game that both teams can be proud of and for Vicious and Delicious, it was an outcome to be celebrated and filed away in the history books of Underdog Football.
Great job and congratulations on the victory...now can you repeat?
This weeks player of the week honor is shared by the L & L hook up crew. These two ladies hooked up on a 3rd and goal that was a game changing play which brought their team Vicious and Delicious with in one score of winning the game.
Laurel on a 3rd down and gender play threw a rope over to Lisa on the sidelines who did a shifty little dance to shake and bake her way past the defender and into the end zone. Both teams cheered the play. Way to go ladies.
Afterwards the team celebrated when one of the players Moms brought Capri Suns for everyone! Way to go Team Mom and way to go Vicious and Delicious for having such a great Underdog Day.
